contact lenses
Today, there are many options for contact lens wearers. Soft vs. Rigid, Spherical vs. Toric, Monovision vs. Multifocal, Hydrogel vs. Silicone Hydrogel, Daily vs. 2-Week vs. Monthly - it can be very confusing. At Modern Eyecare, we have all of these options available to us. During the contact lens examination, Dr. McAfee will discuss your needs and/or issues with contacts in order to find the best design for you. Below is a list of some of our favorite brands:
Air Optix - www.airoptix.com/
One of the newest designs, the Air Optix family has been one of the most comfortable lenses, especially for those who experience dryness with contacts. Some patients report this lens becomes more comfortable the longer its worn. Available in spherical, astigmatism and multifocal designs, this monthly lens has been one of our most succesful contact designs to date.
Acuvue - www.acuvue.com/
Acuvue2 lenses have been around a long time. They mask mild astigmatism very well and give excellent vision. However, some patients dry out with them. To combat this, Vistakon introduced Acuvue Advance and then Oasys which improve comfort and wear time as well as provide increased oxygen to the cornea. Oasys is available in spherical, astigmatism and multifocal designs - all of which are bi-weekly replacement.
Coopervision - www.coopervision.com/us/patient/
A company with many excellent options with varying replacement schedules.
The maker of Purevision and Soflens brands.
